MEET THE DIRECTOR

Director and Head Coach at Mount Saint Mary's University 1993-Present. Named the 1997, 1999 MAAC Coach of the Year. Coach Gravante was a two-time, first team all-America at Hobart College ('87 & '88), where he also received Attack-man and Player of the Year Awards in the 1988 NCAA Division III Championship. Tom still holds the NCAA Division III scoring record for 17 goals in three playoff games. A former member of the MILL Baltimore Thunder, Coach Gravante was the 2001 NCAA Division 1 recipient of the Howdy Meyers "Man of the Year." He was inducted into Hobart College's Athletic Hall of Fame in the Fall of 2007.
LETTER TO THE COACH OR TEAM ORGANIZER
Dear Coach or Team Organizer,
The 1st annual Elite 150 summer-16 lacrosse tournaments are underway. As the growth of this great sport has finally reached a Varsity and JV level across the state of Maryland and other surrounding states, it’s time to offer these players an opportunity to show case their skills to college coaches.
Session I will host a competitive JV tournament and field only 8 to 16 teams. Each team is guaranteed (10) games which includes: (6) regular tournament games, (3-4) playoffs/consolation games, and championship. There will be an Elite 40 All-Star game on Tuesday at 6:30pm in the Waldron Family Lacrosse Stadium. Tournament championship and final consolation games will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday morning. The awards ceremony honoring the winning team the $25 Outback Steakhouse gift card will follow on the field after the championship game.
Session II will host a competitive Varsity recruiting tournament. All Division 1, 2, 3, and JUCO coaches will be notified and invited. It will also limit tournament teams to 16, ensuring all teams and players maximum playtime and exposure to college coaches. Each team will be guaranteed (10) games which includes: (6) regular tournament games, (3-4) playoffs/ consolation games, and championship. There will be an Elite 40 All-Star game on Tuesday at 6:30pm in the Waldron Family Lacrosse Stadium. Tournament championship and final consolation games will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday morning. All games will be played on (7) regulation grass fields and (1) field turf stadium. Games will be (2)–25 minute running halves with (1) time out per half. There will be (2) referees/game. All tied games during regulation play will determine winner by sudden death overtime: (5) minute running periods with (1) time out in each period of overtime. There will be a (2) minute time out at the end of regulation play and between over time periods. This will be a great week of lacrosse that gives your athletes the ability to strengthen their skills and further their recruitment.
Once again, to ensure maximum play and college recruiting exposure for your athletes, we will accept the 1st (16) teams who have submitted complete: TEAM REGISTRATION CONSENT FORMS/FEES OR SUBMITTED A $500 NON-REFUNDABLE TEAM DEPOSIT to: THE ELITE 150. Sign up by April 1st, 2008 and save $15 per youth camper or tournament player.
Complete team registrations include:
- Registration Forms – consent form information with parent/guardian signatures.
- Fees – check(s) corresponding to the number of players.
To help recruiting efforts for college coaches, each player will get a numbered reversible jersey as part of their tournament fee. So please mail complete team registration and entry fees together by June 1st, 2008.
